For the 4th year, SOURIAU wins AIRBUS’s best Supplier Award for standard electrical parts
SOURIAU is pleased to announce that it has been honoured with the 2010 AIRBUS Supplier of the Year Award in recognition of the best global performance during the supplier SQAL Electrics Conference held in Toulouse on December 16, 2010.
In a particularly unfavourable context resulting from the worldwide economic crisis lasting through the middle of 2010, the SOURIAU group has managed to cope with the strong demand variations while preserving its level of excellence towards the group AIRBUS and their main subcontractors over several continents. All these supply chain efforts coupled with a constant long term investment policy in both production capacity and in new technologies were rewarded by the AIRBUS 2010 Award of Best Supplier of standard electrical parts and this for the 4th time in 5 years.
In a particularly aggressive competitive environment, the SOURIAU group has accelerated new product development and range extensions thus partnering with AIRBUS in facing the new challenges of the civil aircraft market in areas such as the reduction of fuel consumption, noise pollution as well as in the impact on the environment. Among the many technologies for which SOURIAU is worldwide leader in the civil aviation arena are; a complete range of high power contacts and 38999 type connectors in composite shells. Indeed, SOURIAU has just been selected for the A350 program. In addition, in spring 2010, SOURIAU received the first worldwide MIL QPL certification for the 38999 range with ROHS protection “zero cadmium” (black zinc-nickel) confirming its commitment to environmental protection.
“We are particularly proud to win this award for the fourth year.” explains François Calvarin, Chairman of SOURIAU. “It is the fruit of the involvement of the whole company in the total quality strategy and in the constant improvement process in all our sites over several years, especially in our French and Moroccan production facilities. To accompany the increase in production rates at AIRBUS and the new market shares of SOURIAU on all new civil aircraft programs, an aggressive schedule of massive investment is under way in all sites of the group and notably in our new production unit in India.”
