Group has been working on the R&D of a metallic plated composite material light by nature and suitable for a 175°C operating temperature which means 50°C above the standards requirements. The micrometers layer of Nickel plating, or Gold plating for space connectors, provide optimized shielding and shell to shell continuity to guarantee the transmitted signals integrity.
In addition, the #26 crimp contacts are removable and allow an easy and quick change of the harness configuration. This flexibility of design reduces the costs of the equipments production phases. The microComp® connectors are qualified by the European Space Agency for space applications. These connectors are already used on board space flying missions and have future prospects in this industry where the equipment’s gram sent to space is worth gold. Moreover the range dedicated to the aeronautical, military and automotive applications is already used by the equipment manufacturers who saw the point of their use on-board systems in Formula 1, in the new aircraft instrument panels but also in counter-measures and missiles.
